Digital Preservation is People

A site for all people concerned with digital preservation

You’ve read the Digital Preservation is People (DPIP) mission statement. You may have already joined the Discord.

As we try to connect as a community around the potential of DPIP we would love to hear what resonates with you? How can DPIP can benefit you day to day? How can DPIP create new potential for you, or the communities that you are involved in? What questions do you have for DPIP or about DPIP that we can find answers for together at the upcoming town hall and as the initiative grows?

We want to hear your thoughts on what does DPIP mean to you?

We want to understand why people might leave the digital preservation community, to know what support might look like if you needed more but weren't getting it? Or what drew you toward another industry?

How do you reflect on digital preservation in light of your new role or life? Have you insights that are important for your former colleagues? In an ideal world would you have liked to stay in the community? What does that world look like?

If you were once part of the digital preservation community, why did you drop out?

We all want to feel supported in what we do. We also know there might be people out there who don't feel supported, or know where to get it from. Conversely there may be positive stories too, what has made you feel supported in what you're doing?

What does support look like for you in your role? (From colleagues? The Organization? Or an external initiative like DPIP?)

What has made you feel supported recently, or in the past?

Let us know your story!
