You’ve read the Digital Preservation is People (DPIP) mission statement. You may have already joined the Discord.
As we try to connect as a community around the potential of DPIP we would love to hear what resonates with you? How can DPIP can benefit you day to day? How can DPIP create new potential for you, or the communities that you are involved in? What questions do you have for DPIP or about DPIP that we can find answers for together at the upcoming town hall and as the initiative grows?
We want to hear your thoughts on what does DPIP mean to you?
About DPIP prompts
This is the first prompt in what we hope will be a long line of prompts around DPIP. It is part of a service called submit.as and allows everyone to contribute their thoughts to an open access blog available on ActivityPub instances such as Mastodon. We look forward to reading and sharing all that contribute their wriitng.

Guidelines
- There will be a brief review before your blog is posted.
- Responses should be courteous.
- We trust that people writing will do so in good faith.
- Prompt responses should have an individual’s name and be posted with a legitimate email.
- Writing that doesn't follow the code of conduct will be rejected.
- In exceptional circumstances a rejection may be followed up with an email from a member of the DPIP team to explain the rejection.
